Why Did Jesus Really Come?…Part 4, by Papa Boyd Dennis.
This week let’s take a look at the second very important reason “Why Jesus Really Came”….He Came To Reveal Man to Man!
He came to show man what the Father God really intended when He created man, and then through the completeness of His redemptive work, what man could once again become…The visible image and likeness of the invisible God…Colossians 1:15.
Colossians 1:15 – He (the son of man…Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, and the very image of God’s intention and plan when He created man in His image and likeness.
God’s original purpose was to reveal Himself to His creation through man and to and bring everything everywhere into a place of intimate fellowship and a vital union with Himself. 4000 years after Adam had fallen from the intentions of his Creator God, God sent His son into the earth with the hope that through His life, death, and resurrection man could once again be restored to an intimate relationship with God and become what God had always intended.
When Jesus said to Philip, “If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father”, He also could have said, “If you have seen me you have seen the intention of the Father when He created man”…John 14:9. From Hebrews 2:5-10…Here is a question we must all ask…”What is man, that you remember him? Or the son of man, that you care for him. You have made him for a little while lower than the angels”. Here is the answer we must all embrace…”You have crowned Him with glory and honor, and appointed him over the works of your hands; you have put all things in subjection under his feet. For in subjecting all things to man, He left nothing that is not subject to man”. And here is the reason why we can all embrace what is true about man in relationship with Go…”For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings”. Remember, when you fix your eyes upon Jesus, you are seeing a true revelation of man as God always intended him to be.
