As we continue on in answering the question, “Why Did Jesus Really Come”, I don’t want you to ever think that I don’t have great reverence for the shed blood of the Lamb for the forgiveness of sin. My point is that although the forgiveness of sin was absolutely essential to the saving of mankind from the destiny sin had set before it, forgiveness is really only a “door” through which we enter into the vastness of what Jesus really accomplished on behalf of His Father (first) and those that the Father so dearly loves….
Let me refer to the encouragement of Hebrews 12:2 in which the Bible says that we are to “fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith”. It would seem important to me, that as we are fixing our eyes upon Him, that we would “see” Him in the reality of the life He lived during His time in the earth, and maybe more importantly that we would “see” Him in the reality of what He accomplished on our behalf…Or the greatness and the completeness of His salvation of our lives. Let me give you 9 more important reasons “Why Jesus Really Came” and then we will look into each one of these more fully in the weeks ahead.
1. Jesus Came to Reveal, Interpret, and Make Known God to Man;
2. Jesus Came to Reveal Man to Man;
3. Jesus Came to Become “The Incorruptible Seed” that had the potential to reproduce itself in the earth;
4. Jesus Came to Re-Establish the Kingdom of God/Heaven in the earth through man;
5. Jesus Came to Fulfill the Old Covenant and Establish a New Covenant;
6. Jesus Came to Reveal the Church to the Church;
7. Jesus Came to Define Freedom;
8. Jesus Came to reveal and introduce a “New and Living Way”…An Intimate, Responsive and Dependent Life:
9. Jesus Came to Restore Man to the Original Intention or Purpose for which God created man.
